China Earthquake Latest

The latest news from China is that the earthquake in Sichuan province of 12th May 2008 has killed over 69,000 people. There are still just under 20,000 missing and presumed dead, and over 350,000 have been injured.

There have been a large number of aftershocks in the weeks since the quake and a number of new dangers of flooding have emerged due to diverted rivers and lakes. Humanity First is channeling funds through local organisations to ensure that aid gets to the needy in the most efficient manner.
