Situation
One in two people in developing countries
cannot access clean water, and hundreds
die every day due to illnesses related to
contaminated water. In much of the developing
world, people have to walk for miles with
a container to get their daily water requirement.
Response
Water for Life ensures that villagers
are given a sustainable clean water supply.
A typical hand pump serves at least 400
villagers. HF assess candidate villages
and then plan to get the equipment and
engineers to the selected village.
Outcome
Already, dozens of water pumps have been
installed in Asia and Africa and are providing
safe water for over 30,000 people. After
the Asian Tsunami, the pumps installed
in our Lamno camp served over 3,000 people.
In the village of Sita in the Gambia,
the wells provide both drinking water
as well as catering for their agricultural
needs, making the villagers self-sufficient.

For these people, the Wells you help
us install provide them with their daily
water requirement. We need your help to
get clean water to millions of others
that are in desperate need.
