Situation
The poverty cycle is perpetuated when poorer
communities lack training, and in turn,
they have limited earning potential. This
cycle leads to malnutrition, and social
problems.
Response
Humanity First has already established
14 IT institutes in Africa and Latin America.
Specialists have been providing training
and expertise. Many of the students have
already found employment with their new
skills. Other skills centres have been
established for women that involve the
design and tailoring of garments. After
completion of the course, the women are
provided with a free sewing machine to
further their business.
HF have established the ‘Our Kids,
Our Future’ initiative in the US
to serve the poorest city areas of the
US through the provision of books and
teaching aids, academic awards, schools
supplies and even preventative health
services in collaboration with the local
communities.
