Situation

Millions of people live below the poverty line and are caught in a vicious cycle of poor education, limited earning potential, poor nutrition and bad health.

Response

The Feed a Family project has been established in several African countries including Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Gambia and Sierra Leone. Already hundreds of thousands of people are being supported for a fixed period during which they are provided with training to give them a future. Many of these families have now taken advantage of the training programmes and are able to support themselves. Feed a Family can then move onto other needy families. The assessment of deserving families is done locally with the communities themselves.
